Ceftriaxone & Sulbactam for Injection
Composition: (4.5 g. vial)
Each vial contains:
Ceftriaxone Sodium equi. to Ceftriaxone U.S.P. 3.0 g
Sulbactam Sodium equi. to anhydrous Sulbactam U.S.P. 1.5 g
Antimicrobial spectrum of Inj. CEFTOVET
The combination of Ceftriaxone sodium and Sulbactam sodium is active against all
Gram-Negative Aerobes, Gram-Positive Aerobes and Anaerobes.
Indications:
Inj. CEFTOVET is indicated for the treatment of following infections when caused by susceptible bacteria:
- Mastitis.
- For the treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease, septicemia and meningitis caused by susceptible micro-organisms.
- Relapsing fever (an infection transmitted by tick bites that causes repeated episodes of fever).
- Severe diarrhoea caused by Shigella and Salmonella.
- Abdominal infections (Peritonitis, infection of the biliary and gastrointestinal tract).
- For treatment of lower respiratory tract infections.
- Urinary tract infections.
- Genital infections including uncomplicated gonococcal infections.
- Infections of bones, joints, skin, soft tissue and of wounds.
- Cholecystitis
- Osteomyelitis
Mode of administration:
Inj. CEFTOVET (Ceftriaxone-Sulbactam) may be administered intramuscularly or intravenously.
Dosage:
5 to 10 mg per kg. body weight once a day for 3-5 days
